ELENE GOGODZE: FROM RESONANCE TO PRESENCE
How has the sound of the viola evolved over time, and how does it find rest in a changing world? Elene Gogodze takes the audience on a journey through nearly 300 years, connecting the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Paul Hindemith. Two worlds that are fundamentally different, yet share striking similarities. In Bach’s time, characterized by order and structure, music offered balance within limitations. Two centuries later, in a fragmented post-war world, Hindemith turns to the same clarity as a source of stability. On both Baroque and modern viola, she demonstrates this transformation, from resonance to presence, from inherited sound to independence. Elene Gogodze has won international awards throughout her career for her beautiful performances. She is currently a member of LGT Young Soloists and a scholarship student of the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation. Additionally, Elene studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
