Giorgi magradze

Giorgi Magradze was born on December 10, 1998, in Gori, Georgia. In 2008, he began his musical education at the art school in his village, studying piano. In 2013, at the age of 15, Giorgi started learning the oboe in George Gogoladze's class at the Tbilisi Music Seminary, from which he graduated in 2016.

During his time at school, he participated in concerts held in various halls in Tbilisi. After graduating from the music seminary, Giorgi began studying at the Tbilisi State Conservatory in the class of Teimuraz Mikaberidze. He completed his bachelor's degree in 2020 and continued his studies in the Master of Music Performance program at Hochschule der Künste Bern in Professor Matthias Arter's class. Since 2022, he has been studying at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in Professor François Leleux's Master of Neue Musik class.

During his studies, he performed many concerts as a guest solo oboist with various orchestras, including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Münchner Symphoniker, Pierre Boulez Ensemble Berlin, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, Kammerorchester Basel, and Georgisches Kammerorchester Ingolstadt. He has performed under the direction of distinguished conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Matthias Pintscher, Jonathan Nott, Thomas Guggeis, and Simon Gaudenz. In 2016, at the age of 17, Giorgi won an audition and secured a position as Solo Oboist at the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theater. In the same year, he won second prize in the Otar Taktakishvili International Competition (Tbilisi) and third prize in the Mozart International Competition (Tbilisi). In 2015, he participated in the Fourth International Festival of Friendship Harmony.
